Following my pilot group training, I used the standard in-service evaluation sheet used by my school district. I would classify it as a Kirkpatrick Level 1 reaction sheet. I received the following feedback:


Participants rated the following categories:

  • Preparedness: All 15 participants (100%) stated that "The presenter was completely prepared for this in-service offering."
  • Content: All 15 participants (100%) stated that "The presenter demonstrated extensive knowledge of subject matter being presented."
  • Objectives: All 15 participants (100%) stated that "The objectives were clearly stated and fully met in time allowed."
  • Usefulness: All 15 participants (100%) stated that "All of the material presented in the in-service offering was current, relevant and practical."

Here are a few of the commendations, recommendations and comments I received after conducting training with my pilot training group:

  • "Well organized, wicked helpful. I was very pleased w/ the content, pace, and organization of in-service!"
  • "Tremendous in-service! The day was structured in a way that packed in a lot of useful instruction, but did not overwhelm."
  • "This was the BEST instruction I have received on Smart Board. (This is my forth class.)"
  • "This is the 1st Smartboard workshop I have taken that has made me feel comfortable and excited about the use of Smartboards in my classroom."

Need for follow-up:

  • Seven participants (47%) stated that "Topics introduced in this in-service warrant substantial follow-up programs."
  • Six participants (40%) stated that "Topics introduced in this in-service warrant some follow-up programs."
  • Two participants (13%) stated that "Topics introduced in this in-service warrant minimal or no follow-up programs."

All 15 participants stated that they would recommend this in-service to all teachers.
